Pro Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 June 2026 | Version 1.1 (updated 5 August 2026)
1. Pro eligibility
You must be a registered South African business (company or sole trader) and complete TruePro's identity verification process. Lead access is suspended until identity verification is approved. Public liability insurance is not required to join TruePro, but verified insurance earns the Fully Verified badge and improves your visibility in customer searches.
2. Leads, quotes, and direct customers
TruePro broadcasts job requests to eligible pros based on service area and category ("marketplace customers"). Receiving a lead does not guarantee a job. You may submit one quote per job request. You may also invite your own existing customers ("direct customers") to use TruePro — either to pay you through TruePro's payment protection, or to be invoiced by you directly outside the platform. Quote acceptance by a marketplace customer, or by a direct customer who pays through TruePro, creates a binding service contract between you and the customer.
3. Service standards
You must perform all work to a professional standard consistent with industry norms. Completion photos are required. Falsely marking a job as complete may result in suspension.
4. Payments and payouts
When a marketplace customer accepts your quote, or a direct customer chooses to pay through TruePro, they transfer the full quoted amount to TruePro's bank account via EFT. TruePro holds these funds securely until the customer submits their review (or 2 SA business days elapse), then releases them to your verified bank account. TruePro charges a platform fee as disclosed at the time of quote acceptance. For direct customers you invoice yourself outside TruePro, you collect payment directly — TruePro does not hold, guarantee, or charge a platform fee on those funds.
5. Issues and resolution
You have 48 hours to respond to a customer issue report. Failure to respond results in automatic escalation to TruePro admin. Where TruePro is holding payment, TruePro's adjudication determines how those held funds are released, refunded, or split. Where you invoiced a direct customer yourself, TruePro's adjudication is still binding on both parties, but since TruePro isn't holding any funds, you and the customer are responsible for carrying out the decision (e.g. you sending a refund) yourselves.
6. Conduct and termination
TruePro may suspend or ban your account for poor service, fraud, repeated unresolved issues, or violation of these Terms. Banning results in your SA ID number being added to TruePro's restricted list.
7. Independent contractor status
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between you and TruePro.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
