Frequently asked questions
Here are answers to the questions pros ask most often before and after joining TruePro. If your question is not covered here, see the guides below or contact TruePro support through the Help page.
Is TruePro free for pros?
Yes. Your business profile, mini-site, quote builder, scheduling, invoicing, team management, and every other business tool are free to use, with no monthly or setup fee. TruePro only charges a fee on jobs where we sourced the lead or protected the payment — see Fees & pricing for the full breakdown.
What does TruePro charge, and when?
A single 4.5% fee, deducted from your payout, applies only when a customer pays through TruePro-protected payment — whether that job came from the marketplace or from your own direct customer paying via TruePro. If your direct customers pay you outside the platform, or you're just using the tools to run your business, there is no fee at all. There are no lead credits, cancellation fees, or separate payout fees.
How do I get paid after finishing a job?
Mark the job complete with a completion photo and note. Payment is released either when the customer reviews and confirms the work, or automatically after 2 SA business days if they don't respond. Once released, funds are transferred to your verified bank account, typically within one to two business days. See Getting paid for the full walkthrough.
How do I become a verified pro on TruePro?
Registration requires your South African ID, business details, proof of insurance, and banking information. Most verifications are completed within one to three business days once all documents are submitted. See How to register and get verified for the full step-by-step.
Do I have to use the marketplace, or can I just use the tools for my own customers?
Both are available and neither is required. The operations tools — quoting, scheduling, invoicing, team management, and more — work for jobs with your own customers whether or not you ever take a marketplace lead. The marketplace is an optional extra source of new customers on top of that, matched to your trade categories and service area.
How many leads can I quote on?
Each marketplace job accepts a maximum of five quotes, so responding quickly matters. If a customer requested you specifically from your profile or their saved pros list, you're exempt from that cap and can always quote. See The 5-quote cap and how to win jobs for more.
Can I add my team to my account?
Yes, at no extra cost. You can invite dispatchers and technicians, assign jobs, and manage scheduling and field workflows from one account. See Inviting and managing your team to get started.
What happens if a customer reports an issue with my work?
TruePro reviews evidence from both sides — job notes, photos, and messages — before deciding an outcome. Payment can be released to you in full, released partially, or refunded to the customer depending on what the evidence shows. See Responding to reported issues for how to respond well.
