Getting paid
Payment on TruePro is held securely from the moment the customer pays. This article explains when payment is triggered, how long you wait, and what happens in different scenarios including reported issues.
When payment is triggered
Payment is released in one of two ways:
- Customer reviews and releases payment — the customer opens their job status link and clicks "Review and release payment →". They submit a star rating and the payment is released immediately. This is the fastest route to payment.
- Automatic release after 2 SA business days — if the customer does not review or report an issue within 2 SA business days of you marking the job complete, payment is released automatically. You do not need to do anything — the timer starts when you mark the job done.
Marking a job complete
When you have finished the work, open the job on your dashboard and click "Mark as complete". You will be prompted to upload at least one completion photo and add a completion note. Do this before you leave the customer's property — it is your evidence that the work was done.
How long does the payout take?
Once payment is released (by customer confirmation or auto-release), TruePro transfers the funds to your verified bank account. Transfers typically arrive within one to two business days, depending on your bank.
Invoices: Tax Invoice vs Invoice
TruePro automatically generates an invoice for every completed job. The document heading depends on your VAT registration status:
- VAT-registered traders receive a Tax Invoice that includes your VAT number and shows VAT charged separately. Customers can use this to claim input VAT.
- Non-VAT-registered traders receive a standard Invoice. The words "Tax Invoice" and a VAT number do not appear — this is a legal requirement under South African VAT law.
If your VAT registration status changes, update it in Profile > Business details and contact TruePro support to reissue any affected invoices.
The "Partially paid" status
If an issue is reported and resolved partially in your favour — for example, you completed 70% of the agreed work — the admin team may release a portion of the payment to you and refund the remainder to the customer. In this case, your job will show a status of "Partially paid". The partial payment follows the same transfer timeline as a full payment.
Viewing your payout history
Go to Account > Payouts to see a full history of payments received, including dates, amounts, and the jobs they relate to. You can download this as a CSV for your bookkeeping.
What if payment is delayed?
If you believe payment should have been released but it has not arrived in your account after three business days, contact TruePro support with your job reference number. Include your bank details confirmation so the team can investigate quickly.
