Completing a draft job request
If you started a job request but did not finish it, TruePro saves your progress automatically as a Draft. This article explains why jobs end up in Draft status and how to activate them so quotes can come in.
Why is my job in Draft status?
A job request is saved as a Draft when you begin the quick-start flow but stop before completing it — for example, if you described your job and selected a category but did not confirm your address or posting preferences. TruePro saves what you entered so you do not have to start over.
A job you submit while signed in is also saved as a Draft if you have not yet confirmed your email address and verified your cell number by SMS OTP. This keeps your job private until we know it is really you — as soon as both are done, activate it from the job page to send it to pros.
Draft jobs are not visible to tradespeople. No leads are sent out and no quotes will arrive until the job is activated.
How to activate a Draft job
- Open My jobs. Draft jobs appear at the top of the list with a Draft label.
- Click on the draft job to open it.
- Review the job details. If anything needs updating, edit it now — once the job is live, some fields cannot be changed.
- Click Complete your request.
- Confirm your address and any remaining details, then submit.
As soon as you submit, the job goes live. TruePro will match it to verified pros in your area who cover your category, and you will start receiving quotes within a short time.
Can I edit a Draft before activating it?
Yes — you can edit any field in a Draft job before activating it. Once it is live, changes to the description, category, or location are restricted to avoid confusion for pros who have already started quoting.
How long do Draft jobs last?
Draft jobs are kept for 30 days. After that, they expire and are removed from your account. If your draft has expired, you will need to post a new job request from scratch.
Why won't my Draft job activate?
If clicking Activate this request doesn't work and you see a message about a photo that "could not be uploaded" or "appears to be empty," one of your attached photos or videos failed to upload properly (this can happen with files sent via WhatsApp). Look for a thumbnail marked Upload failed on the job page, tap the × to remove it, and try activating again.
Can I delete a Draft?
Yes. Open the draft job and click Cancel job. This permanently removes the draft. If you change your mind, you will need to post a new job request.
