Getting started — body corporate
Body corporate accounts on TruePro are designed for the formal, structured way that property management businesses and sectional title schemes commission maintenance work. This article explains the body corporate role, what makes it different from an individual homeowner account, and how the key features work.
What is the body corporate role?
A body corporate account is used by managing agents, trustees, or property managers who commission and approve maintenance work on behalf of a scheme or building. Unlike an individual homeowner, a body corporate typically has formal approval requirements, purchase order (PO) numbers, and needs to maintain a clear audit trail for record-keeping and auditing purposes.
PO numbers and formal approvals
Many body corporates require a purchase order number before any work can be approved. On TruePro, you can configure your account to require a PO number on every job. This number is captured at the point of posting the job and appears on all documents, invoices, and payment records related to that job. It makes reconciliation straightforward at month end.
Branch and property management
If you manage multiple properties or schemes, TruePro lets you organise jobs by property. Each property can be named and addressed separately — for example, "Sunset View Complex, Unit 4B" — and your job history is searchable and filterable by property. This makes it easy to review all work done at a specific building.
Team access
Body corporate accounts can have multiple users — for example, a managing agent and the trustees of a scheme. Each user can be given appropriate access. Some may be able to post jobs and approve quotes; others may have read-only access to view job history and download invoices.
Getting started
Contact TruePro to set up a body corporate account. A member of the team will walk you through the configuration options and make sure your PO and approval workflow is set up correctly before you post your first job. Standard homeowner self-registration does not apply to body corporate accounts.
