Accepting a quote and paying safely
Once you have reviewed the quotes on your job, accepting one is straightforward. This article walks you through the acceptance process, explains where your money goes, and tells you when the tradesperson gets paid.
How to accept a quote
- Open your job. Log in and go to your job. You will see all quotes received so far.
- Review each quote. Compare line items, scope, exclusions, the pro's trust score, and their reviews from past customers.
- Click "Accept this quote" on the one you choose. You can only accept one quote per job.
- Read and sign the agreement. You will be shown TruePro's customer agreement. Read it carefully, type your full name, and draw your signature in the box provided. This is your electronic signature — it confirms you have read and accepted the payment protection terms and the resolution process.
- Make your EFT payment. After signing, you will see TruePro's bank account details and a unique payment reference. Transfer the exact amount shown to TruePro's account, using the reference provided. The page updates automatically once your payment is received — you can also bookmark it and check back.
- Job confirmed. Once TruePro receives your payment, the tradesperson is notified and the job moves to "Accepted" status. They will be in touch to confirm your appointment.
Where does your money go?
Your payment goes to TruePro's bank account and is held there on your behalf. The tradesperson cannot access it until the job is complete. This protects you if the work is not done, and gives the tradesperson confidence that payment is secured before they begin.
What payment protection covers
- The full quoted amount is held until the job is complete.
- If an issue is reported and upheld, a full or partial refund can be issued from the protected funds.
- Payment protection does not cover additional work agreed verbally outside the platform — always keep changes to the scope on TruePro.
When does the pro get paid?
The tradesperson is paid in one of two ways:
- You review and release payment — once you are satisfied with the work, click "Review and release payment →" on your job status page, leave a star rating, and submit. Payment is released to the tradesperson immediately.
- Automatic release — if 2 business days pass after the job is marked complete by the tradesperson and you have not confirmed or reported an issue, payment is released automatically. You will receive a reminder on the first business day. This prevents tradespeople from being held to ransom indefinitely.
Changing your mind after accepting
Once you have accepted a quote and paid, cancellation may result in a partial or no refund depending on whether the tradesperson has already started work. If you need to cancel, contact TruePro support before the tradesperson arrives.
