Downloading your invoice or receipt
After a job is paid, TruePro generates a VAT invoice automatically. You can download it at any time from the job detail page. This article explains how to find it and what it contains.
How to download your invoice
- Go to My jobs and open the relevant job.
- Scroll to the Payment section.
- Click Download invoice to save the PDF to your device.
The invoice is also emailed to you automatically when payment is confirmed. Check your inbox (and spam folder) if you cannot find the download link on the job page.
What is on the invoice?
Your TruePro invoice includes:
- The tradesperson's business name, registration number, and VAT number (if registered)
- Your name and, if applicable, your company name and VAT number
- A line-item breakdown of the work quoted and completed
- The VAT amount (if the tradesperson is VAT-registered)
- The total amount paid in ZAR
- The TruePro payment reference number
- The date payment was confirmed
Can I use this for SARS or business expense claims?
Yes — the invoice is a tax-valid document. If you need a VAT invoice for an input tax claim, ensure the tradesperson's VAT number appears on the document. If the tradesperson is not VAT-registered, the invoice will state this and no VAT line will appear.
What if the invoice download is missing?
If the Download invoice link does not appear on the job page, the invoice may not have been generated yet. This can happen if payment was very recent — wait a few minutes and refresh the page. If the link is still missing after 30 minutes, contact TruePro support through the Help page and include your job reference number.
Can I get a receipt instead of an invoice?
The TruePro invoice serves as both a tax invoice and a payment receipt. If you specifically need a plain receipt (for example, for a sectional title insurance claim), you can use the invoice PDF — the payment reference number and date confirm that payment was made and cleared through the platform.
