How to search for and browse verified pros
TruePro lets you search for and browse verified pros in your area before posting a job. You can also post a job request and let pros come to you. This guide explains both approaches.
Browsing the pro directory
Go to Find a Pro in the navigation or at truepro.co.za/pros. You do not need to be signed in to browse.
Searching by suburb and trade
- In the Suburb or area field, type your suburb or area (e.g. "Sandton", "Bellville").
- Use the Trade category dropdown to filter by trade (e.g. Plumbing, Electrical, Solar).
- Click Search.
Results show verified pros who serve your area in the selected trade. Insured and Fully Verified pros appear first, followed by Fully Verified pros without insurance, then Identity Verified pros — all ranked by trust score and number of completed jobs.
Reading a pro's profile
Click on a pro's name to open their public profile. There you will find:
- Verification badges — Identity Verified means their SA ID has been confirmed; Fully Verified means their SA ID and banking details have both been confirmed and every claim they made about themselves has been checked. The separate Insured badge means they also carry verified public liability insurance.
- Trust score and reviews — verified reviews from real TruePro jobs only. You cannot leave a review unless you have paid for a job through the platform.
- Trade categories and service area — what they do and where they work.
- Before and after photos — photos from completed jobs (shared with customer consent).
Inviting a specific pro to quote
If you find a pro you like, click Get a quote on their profile page. This creates a new job request and pre-fills the pro as your preferred pro. They will be notified immediately and can submit a quote directly.
Posting a job request instead
If you prefer to receive multiple quotes from several pros, use Post a Job instead. Up to five pros who match your trade and area will be invited to quote. See How to post a job request for full details.
