How TruePro works

TruePro connects South African homeowners with verified, trustworthy tradespeople. Every pro on the platform has been identity-checked and rated by real customers — not anonymous reviewers — so you know exactly who is coming to your home. Your payment is held safely until you confirm the work is done.

The TruePro process

1. Post your job. Describe what you need done, where you are, and when you need it. It takes about two minutes.
2. Receive quotes from verified pros. Up to five tradespeople in your area who cover your type of work will send you quotes. You can compare them side by side.
3. Accept the quote you prefer. Review each pro's trust score, past reviews, and pricing before you decide.
4. Pay and get protection. Your payment is held securely by TruePro — it is not released to the tradesperson until you confirm the work is complete.
5. The job gets done. Your chosen pro arrives, completes the work, and uploads photos as evidence.
6. Confirm and release payment. Once you are happy, you confirm completion. If there is a problem, you can report an issue before the money is released.
7. Leave a review. Share your experience to help the next homeowner make an informed choice. You can attach up to four photos of the completed work.

Inviting a specific pro

You do not have to wait for pros to find your job. If you browse the TruePro directory and find a pro you want to work with, you can invite them directly to quote on your open job request — just select your job from the dropdown on their profile and click "Invite to quote". They have 48 hours to respond. Direct invitations work alongside the standard broadcast, so you can combine both.

Why TruePro is safer than Facebook or WhatsApp

When you find a tradesperson on social media, you have no way to verify who they really are or whether their reviews are genuine. TruePro verifies every pro's identity and business registration. Reviews can only be left by customers who actually paid for a completed job — so the ratings you see are real.

What "verified" means

Every pro on TruePro has had their South African ID and business details checked by the TruePro team. Pros who also submit verified public liability insurance earn our Fully Verified badge — you will see this clearly on their profile and on any quote they send you. Always check the badge before accepting a quote if insurance matters for your job. Their trust score is calculated from real job data — completion rate, response time, resolution history, and customer ratings. The higher the score, the more consistent their track record.
