Requesting a copy of your personal data (POPIA)
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to request a copy of all personal data TruePro holds about you. This guide explains how to submit a data access request.
What data will I receive?
Your export includes:
- Account details — name, email address, cellphone number, account type
- Job requests — suburb, description, status, and dates
- Reviews you have submitted
- Your notification history
- Pro profile details (if you are a registered pro)
The data is exported as a JSON file and sent to your registered email address.
How to submit a data access request
- Sign in to your TruePro account.
- Go to Account → Your personal data, or visit
truepro.co.za/account/data_request/newdirectly. - Click Send me my data.
- Your data export is prepared and emailed to your registered address within a few minutes.
How to request deletion of your data
Data deletion requests are handled manually by our privacy team. Email privacy@truepro.co.za with the subject "Data deletion request" and include your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days as required by POPIA.
Note: certain data (such as transaction records and resolution case evidence) must be retained for legal and audit purposes and cannot be deleted on request.
