Managing your asset register
The asset register lets you track every piece of equipment installed at your customers' properties — geysers, DB boards, solar panels, heat pumps, and more. It is one place to record installation dates, warranty expiries, and service schedules so nothing slips through the cracks.
What is the asset register for?
When your team installs or services a piece of equipment, you can log it against the customer's property. Over time you build a complete record of every asset you have touched — who the customer is, when it was installed, when the warranty expires, and when the next service is due. This makes it easy to:
- Proactively remind customers when a service is due
- Know exactly what is installed before sending a technician to site
- Back up warranty or insurance claims with installation records
- Generate repeat business from scheduled servicing
Adding an asset
- Go to Asset Register in your pro dashboard.
- Click + Add asset.
- Enter the asset name — be specific, for example Geyser — master bathroom.
- Choose a category (geyser, DB board, solar panel, etc.).
- Optionally add the make, model, and serial number for warranty and parts lookups.
- Enter the key dates: installation date, warranty expiry, last serviced, and next service due.
- Link the asset to a customer — either select from customers you have worked with before, or type a free-text address for direct clients who are not registered on TruePro.
- Add any notes, then click Add asset.
Filtering and finding assets
Use the filter bar on the Asset Register page to narrow assets by category or to see only those with overdue service dates. The stats bar at the top shows at a glance how many assets are overdue for service and how many warranties are expiring in the next 30 days.
Service and warranty alerts
The register highlights overdue assets with a red badge and warranties expiring within 30 days with an amber badge. These appear in both the list view and on the individual asset page.
Linking assets to customers
If the customer has a TruePro account and you have previously completed a job for them, they will appear in the customer dropdown. Their saved property addresses are then available to link as the asset location. If the customer is a direct client without a TruePro account, use the free-text address field instead.
Editing and removing assets
Open any asset from the register and use the Edit button to update any field — useful after a service visit when you want to update the last-serviced and next-service-due dates. Use Delete to permanently remove an asset record.
