Recurring jobs
If you do regular repeat work for a client — monthly maintenance, a quarterly service visit, an annual inspection — you don't need to log a fresh job each time. Set it up once as a recurring job and TruePro takes care of creating the next one when it's due.
Setting up a recurring job
On the New Job form, under Additional options, tick This is a recurring job and choose how often it repeats — weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, every 6 months, or annually. You can optionally set an end date; leave it blank for an indefinite series.
How the next job gets created
Recurring jobs work one visit at a time, not all at once. Nothing happens when you first set it up beyond saving the setting — the next job in the series is only created once the current job is marked complete (or, for a marketplace job, once it's paid). At that point TruePro:
- Creates the next job automatically, carrying over the client, location, category, description, and recurrence settings.
- Adds it to your Leads / Jobs list straight away, and notifies you the same way you're notified about any new lead.
- Sets an expected due date on the job — you'll see "Recurring · Monthly · due ~11 Aug" on the job page, and the same on its Lead page — so you know roughly when the client expects the next visit.
TruePro deliberately does not pick an appointment time for you. You know best whether to send the client appointment options to choose from (build a quote and use the appointment picker in the Quote Builder — the usual flow for a new lead), or go straight to scheduling a firm date if it's already been agreed. Both work exactly as they would for any other job.
Viewing a job's series
Every instance in a recurring series shows a purple Recurring badge — on the job page, the Kanban board, and the List view. A job created from a previous one also shows a Part of a series → link back to where it started, and the job page lists recent instances in the series.
Stopping a recurring job
Open the current instance's Lead page and click Pass and turn off future jobs. This declines the job — same as passing on any lead — and, because it's part of a recurring series, also stops any further instances from being created. There's no reason to pass on your own recurring job's lead unless you also want the series to stop, so the one button does both.
This can't be undone from the job itself — if you want the series to continue afterwards, you'll need to log a new recurring job. Setting an end date up front when you create the job is the better option if you already know roughly when the repeat work should stop.
There's still no self-service way to edit a recurring job's frequency or end date once it's set up (only to stop it entirely) — if you need to change how often it repeats, contact TruePro support.
